So I got one fork on my GT rebuilt with little issue. The other, the bolt that goes in the very end of the damper rod just spins and spins which I am assuming means it is turning inside the fork leg. Is there a trick to stopping it internally so that I can get the bolt out? My old Yamaha had a tool that you placed inside the fork for that purpose. 38mm Ceriani if it makes a difference.

I have found pushing a broom handle up te centre of the fork tube to press damper rod against the end of the stanchion works most times.

Many times a quick burp with an impact gun[air or electric] will suprise the bolt out before the damper rod spins.

Yep - use an impact gun and do this step before taking springs out etc
