i have just been lucking enough to pickup a 1976 860 gts with only 8ooo kms on the clock. it runs very sweetly and idles great hot or cold. it starts fine from cold with choke but when hot it wont fire up on the starter unless it has a touch of choke momentarily. it doesnt seem to like starting on the kick start eitherl. the carbs dont look molested most of the bike as one would expect is untouched. i have only looked at the sparks plugs so far, and now await some advise from an expert on this model. my experience tells me we may be looking at something simple here so i dont want to complicate things.

Could be a leaky inlet manifold causing it to run lean when hot.
