having just rebuilt the cylinder head and refitted it,and after retiming the valves by means of the timing marks, i find that the ignition timing is 180 degrees out!
how can i remedy this without taking the head off again?

What would happen if you unpluged the ignition wires coming out of the points housing, and switch them around?

unfortunately the ignition cam has only one lobe and this is now 180 degrees out,also the points back plate is not reversible, thanks for trying,L A

What I mean is to unplug the wires at the connector and then plug each wire into the other wire's receptacle. I made the same mistake and had to do it to mine too.
