Hi All,

I'm from Australia in my late 30's and have always loved Ducatis. Up until recently I only ever owned modern ducs. A couple of years ago I came across a 450 scrambler on eBay and i just loved the look of it.

Last year I finally decided to track one down. I had been restoring a few 70s era trials bikes and I really just wanted something in good nick which didn't need tearing down and rebuilding. I found a 69 scrambler on eBay in the US and went about buying it. It took me an eternity to sort out the title issues so I could import it back to Australia and finally last week pretty much a year later it has turned up and I'm a happy owner.

It is in pretty good shape despite spending a year in storage/transit however the clutch plates seem like they've stuck, so if anyone has any tips about UN jamming them I'd love to hear.

Also I'd like to get my hands on a workshop manual and spare parts book if anyone can point me in the right direction there.
I look forward to joining in the conversations here and hopefully contributing back when I learn a little more about this great bike.

Congratulations on acquiring the 450 scrambler. There's nothing that looks quite like them. I've had a look at the manuals section on this site but there doesn't seem to be one for your bike.

Take a look at the manuals section of DucatiMeccanica http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/ - there is a parts manual listed for the 450 Scrambler and 450 Scrambler (US). Gowanlochs also list a spare parts manual for the 450 RT - http://www.ducati-gowanloch.com/manuals.htm

It took me an eternity to sort out the title issues so I could import it back to Australia ....

As someone who has contemplated this from time to time, would you mind elaborating a little on the issues and their resolution?

It's actually a 350 I ended up with. It was the 450 which sparked my interest.
