Hi all,I'm new to this forum.Congratulations.

I'm considering to paint my Monster with a look similar to the seventies 750 Imola racer, finish in silver metalflake.

I read somewhere that in the original, the flakes were added in the tank mould and painted after....

My question is what 's the best way to simulate the original Imola paint?
A skilled painter is needed? (one that have done it before)?

I've found this info on the net, they use two spray tips..one for the flakes and one for the paint.

I would to know your opinion before contacting some painters around here.

Thank you in advance!

a skilled professional painter with good equipment can do the job easily. Different manufacturers offer different types of metal flake - around here ifyou went into a paint supply shop and asked for BASS BOAT METAL FLAKE they could set you up no worries. Metal flake paints come in many different size flakes, just ask for the largest available from your supply house in Spain, silver base coat, clear coat over the top.

Thank you Steve.

I've found these flakes from House of Kolor that seems fine for this work (in size 1/64", I don't know if exists larger):

By the way,I want to put the 750 Sport logo..sticker is Ok or is better to make a template and paint it?

Thank's again

Check oldracingspareparts.com, they have the original paint as it was supplied by Ducati. Good luck with your rebuild. Smanetta a volonta'.
