Hi all,

Im very new here, and need a very lot of help. I just purchase a 1971 Ducati 450 Scrambler and dont know a whole lot about it. You can see pictures of it here http://wariosgarage.com/Sophia. The bike starts and runs really good. But, it has virtually no electrical system. The ignition is wired through a switch directly to the battery, and the generator is not hooked up to anything. Also, I have no ignition switch or headlight high-low switch, and no horn switch. There also is no regulator

Can anyone help me?!?! I'd be happy to purchase these items, or I can fabricate my own harness if I could get my hands on some electrical controls.

Please help me and let me know where to start.

Thanks!

Wario

Feel free to contact me at [email protected] also.

Hi Wario
Looks like you've got some work to do!
Here's a link to my site where you can see what I did and download a wiring digram:

Check resistance between the 2 yellow and red wires from the stator wires
you should read about 2 ohms between yellow to red and 2nd yellow to red. You can also check by connecting a 12v bulb across red / yellow/s and start the engine if bulb lights windings ok. All the parts you need, turn up on ebay or are available from various suppliers apart from dip / horn switch which are hard to come by. You can also either make or buy (about $80) a new loom easily.
