900 SS - originality freaks look away!

Here are some pics of my 900ss based special owned since 1985.
It came to me as an original '82 SS but I had other ideas.............Covered about 45000 miles, most of it very enjoyable but definitely had a few 'bevel hell' moments!
I used the bike as everyday transport which despite what people say is possible, visited bike meets, race circuits all over the country and five trips to the IOM TT.
I had to stop riding around 90/91 when I started a family but somehow I kept the bike through thick and thin.
I've recently started a little work to get her roadworthy again, brakes have been completely o/hauled and a new headlight reflector fitted.
Now got to do something with the fibreglass tank which apparently won't like modern petrol.

Enjoy,

Chas.

That's exactly what should be done to all 82 Super Sports...very, very nice job Chas and congratulations on keeping it through thick and thin and bevel price inflation. :-D

Jeeze, there must be so many good memories there....

After you line the fibreglass tank to protect it from modern fuel you'll probably find that a battery will help. Oh, and a chain will probably make it go a little faster too..... ~%~

Ha ha ,well spotted Desmokid.
Well,I suppose the missing battery is easily spotted.............
Actually the chain and battery are both ready to go, i'ts all the other parts that are holding me up.
New fuel taps ( old ones seized solid, o-rings almost certainly b******d).
New inner tubes and tyres ( or should I leave those on for originality?).
Line the fibreglass tank with epoxy.
Fit indicators and mirrors ( never used to bother with such nonsense but I'm too old and creaky to keep looking over my shoulder and doing hand signals).
The list goes on..............

Cheers guys,glad you like it.

Regards,
Chas.

Change the tires, definitely, don't take the risk with old ones.
I have fitted a small bar end mirror on my Mille/NCR special, I don't want indicators, Hailwood didn't use them either in 1978, did he...??

Thats ok my friend,I was joking.
Its the English sense of humour,it doesn't travel well. :-D
