My new bike is a 78 900 GTS. Its has a directional buzzer, sounds like a bus backing up when you put the directional on. Im guessing this is non stock? Also my front directionals stay lit at all times like a running light. Is this correct? What is the white / red wire running along the frame inside the harness that goes to the fuse box? Mine is very melted, and will need replacment. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike
I have just about finished sorting my 1979 900GTS. It had virtually no wiring when I bought it and I managed to get a loom and all the switchgear to sort it out. I spent a lot of time and effort researching the electrics on these bikes and the only problem is that there was not a lot of consistency in the wiring on these models as they left the factory so any advice may or may not be right for yours.
The buzzer is definitely not standard and the front indicators should not stay on.
I will check on mine as I do recall a white/red wire.
PM me if you want to discuss in detail.

Doing some wiring today. Hve the ignition switch figured out. All is well until I turn the lights on. When the lights are turned on, the red power wire going into the ignition switch gets super hot...would melt if I didnt turn it off. Any suggestions?
