Regulator

Hello, recently I fried my regulator so I ordered a new one from Steve's shop.
The question is how do I connect it?
my bike has two yellow wires coming out form the stator ... well those obviously connect to the two yellow wires of the regulator.
the black wire from the regulator goes to ground ... now I have two wires on the bike ... red and brown(the brown goes to the voltimeter) where these go? when the red one conencts to the red wire on the regulator the bike works and I get a decent charge voltage.
so where does teh bron wire go? and what do I do with the white wire coming out fronm the regulator?
