Hello from Buffalo (no, it isn't snowing yet)

Post by Snugducati »

First things, I am new to motorcycles, but the racing history and style of the 1960's era Ducati is what caught my attention. And, of course, the noise...

I have an outstanding offer to purchase a 250 Monza with low original miles and has had a rebuild, a high-compression piston and MkIII cam. Owner/builder says it needs racing fuel, which is not a problem locally. I plan to use it around town only and maybe trailer it to events.

What are the pros/cons of this setup. Are the engines strong enough to take the high compression? I'd like durability but also want the extra power.

I'd like to find someone with knowledge to take a look at the bike for me; it is located in Wyoming.

Your thoughts are appreciated.
