Darmah Frame Number

Just noticed my SD900 frame is stamped DM860SS before the frame number. Is this normal? I would have though it would be DM860SD. Any comments. It is a 1978 model if that makes any difference.

According to my information the 900 SDs had frame numbers ending in SS until the MHR was released in 1979. The Darmahs had six digit frame number starting at 900001.
