Hi to all - i'm a 56yr old geezer that's been Itialian motorcycle mad since the age of 15 when i aquired my first bike - a 70cc Garelli. My current bikes are a 1981 900SS which i've owned from new, a 1981 Moto Guzzi 1000cc MK11 which i bought as "scrap" and rebuilt 6 years ago, and a 2003 999S which i bought 2 years back. I've had a bit of bad luck in the last year - first the Guzzi threw a conrod, then the the 999S developed an electrical fault which to-date has remained "untraceable", and then 3 weeks ago at a track day the right side crankshaft "end"of the 900SS sheared at the point where the keyway for the bevel drive drivegear starts - i couldn't believe it!! Amyway, the purpose of this long epissle is not to look for sympathy, but to find out if anyone else has had a similar problem with a 900 crank and can it be repaired?
