I think you will find that its the angle of the dangle that is reflecting the light of the flash ...........LOL don't you ever stop being so picky ????

Thanks Martin - this is an all original 1977 900SS [but for turns signals and tail light assy], 1 owner bike with just over 1800 miles on her.

steve in AU please don;t be so quick to cry foul. I know the bike well and took this photo of it in my driveway late one night when I was bored.

Believe me, it is as I say.

It's easy to spot the restorations - the tank stripes match the fairing

My '75 SS was restored using an original paint chip (actually a decal) as a match, and it definitely wasn't metallic blue! (see post above for pic)
I think I posted the colour code some time ago...

However......another one (75 model) under restoration definitely was metallic blue!

Frame numbers are only 19 apart...figure that one out!

Just to add more confusion, there are 2 distinct colours of 'straight' blue.

I might have an issue regarding which was the best year too ....
Indicators? on a Ducati? Surely not

Indicators on a Ducati? Some of us don't have any choice. I had to buy a complete set so I could get my bike past the local vehicle inspection. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to licence it.

Now if I could only remember to turn them off after signalling!

Some authorities just don't understand, do they?
I was once refused an MOT (UK Ministry of Transport) certificate because the bike was too loud. They finally caved in when I pointed out that the bike had an un-tampered original exhaust system...and could they point me in the direction of the 'correct' exhaust?

The indicators and taillight don't look original.But then the originals were kinda ugly anyway!

The taillight looks to be off a ca. 1966 Triumph. The indicators are modern mini replacements which, in my opinion, don't suit the bike.

I will say that after getting used to them I now appreciate having turn signals. Nobody seems to understand hand signals anymore and roads are getting more congested all the time.

Bruce, you're right about the practicalities of indicators. I just remembered having to get my bike licence when we had to give hand signals and the hardest one was an uphill right hand turn. Anyway there are still a few universal signals that fully understood.
