replacement rings

I bought some replacement piston rings for my 66 350 Sebring. In the manual it says to put them with the word alto facing up but on the replacent rings from Domiracer, supposedly NOS, there is no alto. The middle compression ring has a cutout or bevel on one side. Does this go up or down? Any help would be much appreciated. I should have paid more attention taking old oned off. Thanks
