well that is a story. i bought the bike out of collection some years back.(only ducati in the bunch...50+ bikes) took three plus years for it to run. bike was a smc in harrisburg for a bit till it went to bcm motorsports for new pipes and a goingthru. bruce himself picked up the bike and one of the first words were that is a reno bike if i ever saw one. he was very helpfull with mods and what he thought was done to it.pipes by arc fabrication to make it hum.....i sold my 996 and this is my track bike. we changed the m/c to a late model 90s monster. the brakes had lots of fade when they got hot. on to the round case/square case motor....not sure of the roundcase side. the oil line was added some time ago. the bike is all correct for a late 70s race bike. i hope that the fine people here can help with this bike. please.....

absolutely. Plese feel free to post your questions etc in the appropriate sections of this site........ You will find that mostly, you will get thoughtful, well thought out responses to your questions.
FYI the roundcase clutchcover thing is not a Reno Leoni specific mod. Dale Newton did the same thing on his 900SS that Paul Ritter campaigned with the AFM and won some AMA races on back in the day.
Here are some photos I took of this bike at the LaDucati Day I organized back in 2004 - LaHonda California [the town name officially changed that day to LaDucati by the way]

steve,
the best i know this bike came out of the midwest in the late 70s. my usdesmo club friends call it the franken bike. it is a great track bike. it had great power and shakes when turned over in corners. i have learned to live with it. lots of fun on the track but keeps you sharp in a field of 1089,999 ect. when bruce pulled it apart it looked to have the race kit on it. i have not had the bike apart yet. i run it hard and it has never let me down. steve how can i load pictures on to the forum with out a link to flicker or kadak? thanks for the info and the pictures.
regards
max
