after 30 years in a shed they're in bad shape-any info on how to strip would be great.
i also found another set of marzocs-i think off my brothers darmah-chrome
springs, they are rough and will go in bin unless anyone wants them

grant-
these are original non res. marzocs-315mm between eyes (longer than original ss shocks),5-way adjustable, marzocchi printed on top, black painted body& chrome springs (painted black).
they dont suit your ss (i think-ss had black springs)
these units are in poor condition and may or may not be repairable
cheers steve

Steve,
mate they would be fine, I have one?? (why I wonder) original SS shock, and obviously would love another, I could then have them for the anal concourse judges who keep telling me "my shocks are KONI and my exhausts are staintunes etc etc" , of course my response is "I ride my bikes and dont want to have my pipes rust in the shed (CONTI's), but thats for another post.
mate if I can access your shocks I would happily take them and do some bodging up.
Nothing a wire wheel /paint and (as I have another set of springs that will suit) will make them close to the originals as I can get.
Please email me :
[email protected] and we can organise post costs etc.

That all depends what you are going to do with the bike
If its for show leave the rubbers on
if its for riding get braid
I have rubber on 3 of my bikes and on the Mille I have braid , can I feel the difference , No , would better pads give me better performance sure
I'm leaving mine rubber until they are starting to show weeps
Yours is a 77 right , what date stamps are on the rubber hose whitish brembo collars ?

Or you could use braided and cover it with black shrink wrap, best of both worlds, and it stops the braided sawing through anything it touchs like the front guard.

hey martin
we're off topic here but
dont have white date collars-dont even remember them being on new 76ss
but-under mast.cyl. there is a year stamped-this dates brakes or so i always thought. both my m/c's are stamped 76,so far so good-then i split calipers-i find same stamp on inside of caliper-75 ? go figure.then on banjo thingy that joins ridgid lines to calipers(after clean up) is stamped -brembo 76e.
ithought i knew it all about my bike but i guess not
cheers steve
