I found a change from the Marzocchi to the Koni (now Ikon) was well worth it when I had my Darmah
The new YSS shocks may be worth a look
http://www.yss-australia.com/
they were about $700 NZD
Yesterday I took delivery of a set of Ohlins for my MHR which were twice the price of the YSS, once they are fitted and I have the emulators in the front end I will do a decent ride I will report back on them

I put Ikons on last year.
Steve's stuff looks the mutts nuts, but postage & duties to the UK make it a bit non-viable, which is a pity.
Anyway, the Ikons absolutely transformed the handling of my SS, but showed up the front end for the bag of **** that it was, due to the springs having sagged over time.
I got some Wurth springs up front, and once I'd got the balance back with the rear it was really good - it now just soaks up the bumps and stays totally planted everywhere. Reminds me of the Ohlins on my old 851.
You could buy 2 sets of fit-for-purpose shocks for the price of the Ikons, but there's no comparison - well worth the extra.
I'm sure this also applies to other multi-adjustable quality shocks, I just haven't tried them
If Blabber's reading this - I suspect that you'll regret going original when you get on the road
Cheers,
Andy

+1 On Steves recommendation of the Works Performance setup.I put the shocks and fork kit on my Darmah and the results are amazing. It even makes the 78 Darmah seat almost comfortable.

Steve -
are the works performance shocks avail in different lengths? Or adjustable - for ride height adjustment?
