The Darmah front cylinder did not like to start and took a while to clear itself. I think it has oil issues as it smokes a bit on start up. Once the plug fouls its pretty much history........( our petrol is not the best).
So I bought some of Steves Dyna Coils and leads.
Starts way better now and clears the front cylinder after an few seconds.
The new voltage reg also make a difference.
Thanks Steve.
I bought the bike in 1986 in Sydney and shipped it back to NZ, it sat around for 15 years unused as it jumped out of 1st and the motor was in bits in boxes. Had the crank rebuilt and gears repaired, the top end really need doing ...but it runs really well.
Top end rattles a bit on start up but then settles down to a nice whurr when warmed up...might invest in the valve setting tools next.
