light switch for darmah

G'day Guys,
Any suggestions re replacement for the left hand switch on my Darmah. Dodgy clamping onto bars and broken wire within + some road rash. I have a vague idea that someone has previously posted re using old Suz**i bits possibly GS but need to know if that is correct and which one. Had a look at Phil R&R for replacement but sold out at present. Nothing listed at on Gowanlochs website although I guess I could give them a call. Just much easier to use the forum for ideas

Try EuroBrit in Victoria, they have an aftermarket switchblock which, whilst not exactly the same as the original is very close. I bought one and have fitted it, but beware no wiring diagram and if like me you have had someone play with your wiring harness in years gone by , then it can be a real headache (but solveable!).

I've checked out the Suzuki replacement as far as I can though going to our local "Two Wheel Wreckers" and trolling through their basket of switches. I can't say whether this is correct ot not, but here's what I've found:

It seems the right hand switch block of some late 70's Suzi is exacly the same as a Darmah. I'm not sure what model Suzi.

The Darmah handgrips are the same as a number of late seventies Suzi's (apparantly). The guy I showed them to recognised them immediately as Nippon Denso kit from a Suzi - and showed me a few examples.

The left hand switchblock (and I've also read there is a Suzi the same), I have never found. I can find a NipponDenso switch block that is exactly the same shape, with the same connector block into the wiring loom, (with one less wire) with indicator and horn the same, but the HI/LO has only HI/LO and not "Flash", and the right lights switch has only ON/OFF and no "Park" (US bikes may not have had this)

To clarify, the RHS lights switch referred to before is also a 70's Suzuki. I can't say exactly what model as the (very large) basket I was looking at was described as "Old Suzuki, alloy switches" Later GS switches were plastic, so look earlier, I guess.

The wire missing on the connector was for "Park" according to my wiring diargram- not provided for in US bikes, But there were a few wires included in the sleeve that were external to the switch block (indicators?) I don't know. The "Flash" facility was a function of the switch block combining circuit for both Low and High beam and was totally internal to the switch block. I can take some photos if you're interested.

yes, more than 1 of my Darmah have SUZUIKI logo under from Nipon Denso so you are correct. Also about US vs Non US versions you are correct. no PARK feature for USA switches, but you can hook it up to work etc.
