SSD Fairing question

Can any tell me if the SSD fairing came out std. with an upper brace like in the pic. or was this just an add on by someone on my bike, as it looks the same as the one on my Mille

niether 1 of my SSD have that.

My SSD has no such brace, and it does look like the one from the Mille MHR. When you see the top of the fairing flap around at speed on my 900SS and my SSD, you can see why someone would want to add such a brace; though on the 900SS it would require removal of the friction damper and on the SSDs it would require purchasing a new fork stem locknut with a center hole.

I dont think this will go back on when I get the new fairing for it as I have not seen this on any other bike including the original sale Brochure

Martin,
2 friends of mine have original 79 SSD's and neither have the brace, my reference ducati books have no comment in respect having the brace.
If you are not using it call me, I am in need of one for my 82MHR.
