Any after market foot pegs for the 896s? With kick start and the location of the foot peg, my shin is never gonna survive.

Maybe your start technique needs to be changed. I put my foot at an angle to avoid hitting my shin. The SS bikes had folding foot pegs and a different shaped kickstarter to avoid the problem but I have now idea how you would be able to find the set. Proper priming can help avoid excessive kicking. I set the choke push it through two times with the ignition off, get one cylinder on the compression stroke, turn the ignition on and give it a good push. This usually results in the best noise ever!! Good luck. Alan
