I was once shown an extremely simple balancing test for a 90 degree v-twin,and I have forgotten it. Also: The problem with going to a heavier piston is the need and method to ADD weight,right?

"Mallory metal",I was once told, is used;slugged/threaded into holes bored in the flywheels,All this,once again, says a lot for stock or lighter pistons.(Assuming the the engines in a particular batch were put up with well balanced cranks! I'd like to hear if anyone has any firm insights on that.)

what are the benefits, disadvantages of a lightened crank/flywheel?
has anyone did this to his bevel?

I think that gentleman's text gives us a great explanation. I think I would go with his $149. package,without any lightening,for the street.

Hey guys, does anyone know what is the serial number of the crank bearings? the ones that sit between the crankshaft and the conrods.

The bearings you are refering to are usually supplied as a set including rods,bearings and crank pin.Installation requires pressing the crank wheels apart and back together,It is a specialist job and not cheap.

I know that. I have a specialist who will do it for me. I just need to order the bearings. for some reason the ducati supplier in israel is not fammiliar with old ducati's and doesnt know the serials

Tapping shaft, and pull the case, in addition to holding at 90 degrees the kickstart lever. Should do so. Editorial review your photos, I see you have a reg. Allen bolt your ENG. It's more than one sump drain intervals.

reviving an old thread.
The guy who was working on my crank finally finished it(yes it took him nearly a year to do it)
noticed that all my crankcase bearings are dead :( so need to replace all of them.
two questions:
I still have one gear in my crankcase(the one with two bearings inside), how do I take it out?

I noticed that the main crankshaft bearings are really expensive, however I found them at a bearable price here with a local dealer, they are FAG7307B.TVP/C3 will these do the trick?
He also has something called high precision bearings which are much much much more expensive something around 200$ per one bearing, is this precision necessary? or I can just use the one I mentioned?
