Left coast duc owner

Post by darmahdude »

Living in Santa Barbara, the land of Fruits Nuts and Flakes.

Own a couple of Duc's
79' Ducati Darmah, completely restored and still not working right
05 Ducati ST3. Not too bad a bike, but way to much to tune up and the fairing rattles more than an old Model T

About ready to chuck both these units into the Pacific and get myself a BMW Dual Sport so I can ride more than 10 miles without a rebuild.

I've lived in Italy and owned Ducati there with about as much luck. All totaled, I have had 6 ducati motorcycles all of which were always needing repair or replacement or tune up.

Currently having ignition issues with the Darmah. Can't figure out if it is the pickup coils or the ignition boxes, neither of which is still available so a ton of money in restoration is now down the tubes.

If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

Don't get bummed over what's probably a simple problem. See suggestions at your other post.

Sorry about the negativity

I guess I got down on the Ducati's a bit more than I should have in my original post. I really do love the damn things.

My current issue with my 79 Darmah 900SD is with the ignition system.
