Are the wheel hubs on your '76 polished from the factory? Could you post a couple of pictures of them, especially the sides? I'm building up a set of wheels to replace my Speedlines. I have a set of hubs that are mostly as-cast so I'm curious how they looked from the factory.

Thanks! I've already polished the hub centres and cush drive carrier. Should go well with the stainless spokes I've yet to order. Incidently, Discovolantemoto claims they can supply new Borrani WM4X18 rims for the back wheels of later SSs. May not have the right number stamping but then they don't cost thousands either like some I've seen on eBay.

So what is all this polishing thereof that goes on then?nottonight68 wrote: ride iti dont even own a helmet
Bike is looking brilliant in the pics. Good progress. Definitely a piece of Italian sculpture. Top work.
Are those the (finally) finished wheels, or the earlier attempts assembled, ready to jam up spokeman's clacker valve?

Yep know what you mean , I did all this for my SSD and I spared no expense as I wanted the bike to be stock standard , it took me for ever to locate the grandturissmo engine breather hose , I managed to find one for a SS its in great condition as well , my engine cost me 4k and this was me supplying a far better 6dog box than what was in it , paint thus far is at 1k assorted parts I think are around the 3k mark and I still have to get the rest of the paint done
But in the end I will have one super clean SSD and this is the bike that I always wanted but could not afford when I was younger LOL not saying I'm old
, I'd say you might have me by 2 or 3 years HAHAHAHA
