G'day from Northam, Western Australia

Post by werwulf »

Hello all, I recently purchased a 'basket case' Darmah... it will certainly keep me busy for some time!
Details as follows;
Year: 1978
Frame s/n: DM860SS*902141 - DGM 13715 OM
Engine s/n: 906346.

Purchased through Eurobrit in Melbourne. Yes, I bought that one!

Was very happy to find this forum and the wealth of useful information, I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time reading on here and then probably asking a multitude of questions! :)

I'll be looking for several parts soon and would be happy to hear from anyone who can help. So far on my list are electrics (especially switch gear and key ignition!), rear sprocket, cush drive and chain, air filters, handle bar grips... oh my poor wallet! Thankfully there seem to be some good sources for parts here in Australia (Bevel rubber, V2 etc).

Regards,

Josh Travaglia.

Thanks Jordan, Steve and Martin for the greetings.

Jordan: I'll certainly try and get some pictures up soon.

Steve: I've had a good look and am certainly impressed with your shop. I could spend a fortune (given the current exchange rate it wouldn't be hard).

Martin: I'd be keen to hear about any parts you might be interested in selling. Having spent a bit of time today going through the boxes and quickly evaluating parts I think it will be a long and expensive project if I want to make it anything more than functional. Lesson learnt - don't buy on impulse

Impulse buying I think we have all done that before, I asked them about the bike some time ago if they wanted to sell it for 5k ,,,,sorry 7k firm was the reply ,,,,,see you later I said like never again LOL. I was also told buy them that it had a crank related problem

Shoot me a pm and let me know what parts you are looking for I bought a pig that I will be parting out most stuff is there except the wiring loom that someone had tried to make there own, it got the side cutter treatment as all the genuine plugs were no longer there ( why do people do that )

anyway PM and let me know what your after

Cheers

PS; what it it cost you to get the bike from Vic to WA ?
