Why am I a Cucciolo?

Post by duck-a-tye »

under everyones name is a ducati model name, what's this about?

I know I'm old and underpowered and the missus has nick named me "short stroke" but that's no reason to call me "Cucciolo"...... or is it??????????

Only joking guys, but what is it for? something to do with the amount of posts?

Cheers

My guess is everybody gets the same names based on post count... which you all probably already figured out but I needed to post something to see what my post count is. 8)

ha - you guys are paying attention!

OK I was playing around wiht the board functions and came across a setting for 'ranks' so I set up some custom rank names based on post count. IIRC I made the first couple 20 or 30 posts apart then went up by 50 then by 100.......

Each rank name is basically starting with the cucciolo as the first or smallest, then going up from that using various Ducati models to draw the names from.

Just goofing around...... Hey Peter Mille' you are a Darmah for awhile yet......... gotta do some more posting until you become a mille'

sounds like I gotta do alot more work to get off the parallel twin!

I woundn't have minded a 500 pantah!

I had the Gt out for a spin this morning. Now I have changed the cracked fork leg, I am a lot more confident riding it!

OK Guys, here is what I have set up;

1+ cucciolo
25+ parallel twin
50+ 750 Sport
100+ darmah
150+ super sport
200+ MHR
300+ 750F1
400+ 851/888
500+ 916

 OK This is open for duscussion.

What names SHOULD there be and at what post counts? Please feel free to make suggestions, I will take someone's suggestion and make it happen. If that happens to be you, then Bevel Heaven will supply you with 2 dellorto carb seal kits for your PHF or PHM carbies.

The decision will be final no later than March 27

1+ Cucciolo, or 'little pup'
25+ Marianna
50+ Diana
100+ Monza
150+ Mach 3 D
200+ 750 SS
250+ 860GT/GTL
300+ Darmah
400+ 900SS
500+ Hailwood NCR

While the Cucciolo was not a bevel drive it is, however, significant to our bevels. It did, after all, get Ducati on the map.
Tried not to leave any one out.
Maybe this or a variation?

1+ narrowcase
25+ widecase
50+ GT
75+ Darmah
100+ S2
150+ MHR
200+ Sport
300+ Mille
400+ Super Sport
500+ Green Frame

My ranking:

Cucciolo
Mariana
Diana
Mach 3
860GT/GTS
Darmah
MHR/S2
750SS
900SS
750SS (Greenframe)
NCR Mike Hailwood

This is a bevel site, so I would exclude the belts and parallel twins. I also think the above approximates the curent market cachet of the various models (though I am conflicted about the NCR Mike Hailwood since the remaining bikes were production models).
