Battery Strap

Post by garryc »

G'Day Guys, I have sudt bought a battery strap from bevel rubber in OZ but of course it doesn't have the metal braket thing required for a darmah. Damien at bevel rubber said it is made of 5mm rod. Does anyone know where i could buy one from or pm me with some photos and measurements so I could have one made
thanks

garry, it would be easiest to simply get something suitable and bend it into a U shape to go between the hooks on the battery tray and the short rod on the end of the battery strap. At the top of the U shap, each end gets a turn down to loop over the rod at the end of the battery strap.

I have done this on all my Darmahs using a coat hanger. It is all hidden so it doesn;t stand out as a mod. I have been thinking one day to make this from stainless but never really found the time or the material to do it right.

8 years on my coathanger mod thus far with no problems
