blinkers on 78 Darmah

I have a 78 Darmah with a set of aftermarket blinkers. From what I can see the originals have a 10mm thread on the outside of the tube. My bike has what looks to be 8mm thead on the inside of the tube is there a connector or has mine been modified to accept the aftermarkets any help is appreciated

there is no connector - the tube end should be 10mm threaded about 2cm [a guess - I didn;t measure] ther is a special nut that turns on then the turn signal itself. Sounds like someone either modified original or installed something on their own...
