Starter issue?

Hi all, just a quickie..

I need a little advice regarding my '77 Darmah - sometimes the starter won't turn, put into gear and rock bike, back into neutral starter turns fine.....

I'm thinking either a dull spot on the starter commutator or starter ring teeth are damaged, any hints would be appreciated.

Steve - might be a bad elec contact. Time to just remove the starter and do a once over mate. Clean everything up and see what happens.

Yep, already travelling down that road, will let you know how i get on. Am in the middle of planning for the strip down over winter '07 - powder coat, paint, chrome, vapour blasting, etc.....
