Afternoon All,
I know this may seem a stupid question, but I have forgotten and can't see anything in the Dellorto book or the Ducati books on the shelf including the shop manual and can't tell the good old fashioned way like with Amals where I put my finger inside the carb.
The choke on my 1974 750S operates on both carbs, understand that. I guess there is a splutter box from the single cable under the tank.
But my question is which direction of the lever engages the choke?
I think it is a fuel enrichment device (over and above the pumps) and so pulling the lever raises the valve and engages the fuel enrichment circuit. Am I right?
Usually on my Amals it's push the lever to relax the cable and this means choke operated. Pull the lever, tension the cable and the choke is taken out of circuit.
Apologies for the "duhhhh" question. I'm getting old.
Regards from Shropshire in the UK.
Stuart

whichever way you are pulling the cable, which RAISES the choke piston, which FLOODS the carb is what you want to do before starting your motor. As soon as it starts drop the piston back down to seal off the gas.
