Hesitation on throttle opening

Post by Mittons »

Hi Guys,

I have recently rebuilt the Dellorto phf 30s on my gt750. Main jet 112, pilot 65. The slides (60/4) were quite scuffed and very worn so i replaced with 60/1. The bike starts well and runs strong through the rev range however when coming off closed throttle there is a definate hesitation before revving cleanly. Any thoughts?

Many, like about 30 years ago, I had an acceleration issue with my 860GTS. If memory serves, and it often doesn't these days the issue was the same as you speak of with a hesitation when the throttle was opened. I`m pretty sure I put it right by putting slides with a different cut away in them that I had laying around. What I can't remember is why the hesitation started because the 36`s had been on her for years at that stage so I`m tipping I`ve messed with something else. Maybe jetting or needles. I do things like that...........I would maybe try the old slides again and see if that helps.
