Overdue intro

Post by ZAMIRZ »

Long overdue intro as I joined a few weeks ago and have been emailing Steve back and forth.

Went to an estate auction to bid on a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans. This Darmah was there and after talking it over with my wife, I decided I'd put in an opening bid and that's it. Well, I was the only person to bid on it, so we came home with both the Guzzi and the Darmah.

I was planning on tearing into the Guzzi first, but after reading up a little more on the Darmah, I decided I'd rather tackle that

Long story short, it's all there, but needs some refreshing. I spent about 2 weeks worth of evenings just cleaning it and then I put an order in with Steve for some basic consumables, changed most of the fluids, put a new battery in and it fired right up on Saturday.

I rode it around a good amount this weekend and it's getting better and better. Will need some carb work, new tires, chain/sprockets. Also has some electrical needs. I'll be posting in some of the other forums.

Plan is to get it solid mechanically and then we'll see where to go from there.

Couple photos attached. First one from the auction, what it looked like when I brought it home. And 2nd one from yesterday, the boys love it!

Thanks,
Amir
