Hi,
I have just bought my firt Ducati, a 1975 350 single. While passing my test it has been sat for just 2 weeks and in this time a problem has developed.
First thing in the morning, choke on, quick flick on the throttle to wake up the carb and a swift down stroke of the kick start and she fires first time. she sits ticking over and revs nicley.
Now. If you turn her off or you stall her there is no way I have found to re-start her. i have tried, checking the points they look good although I have not replaced them or yet checked the timing, however she sounds bang on during warm up. The plug is clean and not soaked. The carb has been stripped and cleaned with no change in the result. the HT lead is new as is the plug and the HT plug cap. The battery is strong. we have a spark, all be it looks a little weak but i am used to 12v, and we have fuel (sniff test at the plug hole) and compression is enough to stand on the kick start at TDC..... but she will not start. Untill that is, the next day.
Any ideas?
One last thing is the little orange light on the front light unit supposed to be always on when ignition is on? even when the engine is running?.
