Great to be here after finally finding another Ducati to own and ride. Back in 1984 I bought my first Duke, the 860GTS which wasn't running but only took a day to fix (dodgy wiring around the transducer, if I remember correctly). What a brilliant bike that I loved throwing around any corner I could find, happy days indeed.
Sold it a year later and it wasn't until around 1986 that I then found an 860GT which, again, was a good experience. Sold it a year later (er, I was going through mucho bikes in those days
)!Finally had to have another Ducati so in 1986 I bought my 3rd, a 900SSD with black and gold Mike Hailwood type fairing. Had brilliant sounding straight through Contis and this one I kept for three years, which was very unusual for me:
A couple of weeks ago finally found another Ducati, an 860GTE this time. A bit of a "basket case" which hasn't been run for at least 15 years, by the looks of it, and is going to need a lot of TLC to get her back on the road but we'll get there! Looking forward to the forum.
