Another Damn Aussie

Post by Sumfun4me »

Hello all. I'm another of those damn ostralians I'm afraid. I joined up after purchasing a (pretty rough but genuine) '86 F1B. I've been riding all my life (now 45), and fell in love with the Ducs when the '85 750 F1A first came out. A good friend of mine bought one & I used to ride it a lot, but way back then they were well out of my price range. I bought my first in '89 (851) and have since owned a 907 Paso, 916, 1098 & currently have a much modified 1198s Corse LE. I picked up the F1 a couple of months ago, as it was a good deal & I've been playing around on the edges of buying one for the last 5 years. I've already stripped her down & have begun the rare spares polka already - I gotta admit that this dance is going to take some getting used to. I intend to rebuild the bike back to original showroom condition to be able to pass it onto my son when the time comes. After I finish this one I plan on grabbing an 851 for restoration.
