Hello! new member....

Hello all!

Yesterday I happened to spreak to my neighbour and he reminded me that he has some kind of Ducati 860 from the 1970s in his friends shed.

Anyway, he has offered it to me, probably for a reasonable price.

I haven't seen this bike yet, but I know its not been run in 6 years.

Anyway, assuming I decide to take it, I'm sure I'll have questions... :)

My neighbour had to move and wanted rid of his bike, so I eventually aquired it.

Here's a quick picture :

The picture is from the day I've got it (a few weeks ago).

I've had this week off work and I've spent most of the time getting the old lady to run. The tax-disc suggests that she hadn't been going since 2003.

So far I've only had to replace the following - air filter, oil filter, oil , spark plugs, battery and petrol hose/clips. Plus copious amounts of general purpose lubricant and elbow grease.

I just spent 15 minutes (probably illegally) riding up and down my road - I was genuinuely impressed with how well the bike goes, especially given my very basic attempts at adjusting the syncronisation, idle mix etc

Anyway, been having a browse on the forums - full of great info!

It looks perfect - I wouldn't change a thing. Original 860GTs like that are pretty rare these days. My first duke was a blue and silver one but otherwise identical.
