Hello from Germany

Post by b2ron »

All,
Looking forward to chatting with the folks here.
I've been riding for over 33 years and managed to accumilate around 400K miles or so. I spent most of my life based in California but have traveled a fair amount. Now I live in southern Germany on Lake Constance (Bodensee) which is about where the Swiss, Austrian and German borders meet. More importantly. the Alps are right across the lake! I do my long distance riding on a BMW K1300GT, sort of a technical tour de force. To give balance in my universe I have a 1980 SSD. The Duc is a recent addition. I had been lusting after an SSD since I saw a red one at TT Motors in Berkley in 1979, but have generally had just one bike that has had to do it all, particularly the times when that was all I had (at one point i had sold my car to buy tires for the bike because all I wanted to do was ride...and I had little money).
The SSD stays in the States for now, which works for my frequent visits there.
