Here's the quick life story as it relates to Motorcycles. As a kid (probably 12 or so) my Grandpa picked up a couple of Honda 90's. A Super 90, and a more Dream like model that I believe was called a C200, or maybe CA200 can't recall for sure off the top of my head. Anyways Grandpa picks up these two Honda 90's for 5 bucks for the pair on a farm sale and gives one to me and one to my brother (I got the super). Mom didn't object at that point, probably because she figured we'd never get them running but a week or so later when we had them both running she put her foot down and told us we had to sell them. So we moved them along to kids with more "understanding" Mother's. Despite Mom's efforts the motorcycle seed was planted. Fast forward 13 years or so and I'm a fresh graduate from college and I run across a guy with a neglected Suzuki GS750 in his backyard. So I bought it off him and got it running. This caused my youngest brother to buy himself a cycle. Then my other brother says hey I want in on the fun and picks something up for himself. Then we started upgrading and buying other bikes. Dad jumped in the mix somewhere in there and now 10 years later the four of us combined have bought 80 bikes, with the currently owned list totalling 60. About 2/3's of that 60 are runners or potential runners with the rest being relegated to parts bike status. Japanese bikes are in the majority, mostly old Honda's, a couple of Suzuki's a few Yamahas, no Kawasaki's at the moment, have had a few but they've always moved along to new owners, and a pair of Hodaka's, but theres a couple of BSA's, a nice Royal Enfield Bullet, a Triumph Daytona, a pair of Benelli's (Montgomery Wards models), a Gilera (Sears), CZ Jawa, Aermacchi (Harley Dirtbike), roughed up Bultaco Fronterra, an MDS (Italian, imported by Cosmopolitan Motors in the 50's), a few mopeds NSU, Malaguti, and Batavus, and some others I'm sure I'm forgetting in our garages. Yep we got the sickness pretty bad.
Now to the part everybody's been waiting for the Ducati's. I recently (spring) picked up a 1965 125 Bronco, and 1967 Sebring 350 (and the aforementioned MDS) from a forum member. The bronco is stuck and is missing a lot of it's parts but does have a title. The Sebring has a title also and a rebuilt engine (9 years ago) but a past owner never put the poor neglected thing back together and in time a few parts were of course misplaced. I'm in the process of trying to piece it back together. This ought to keep me out of trouble for a while.
Anyways been watching the forum quite a bit lately, and really enjoying it, and figured it was time I introduced myself.
