Hello all Ducatista out there

Hello Everyone. New to the forum here. I have a 1978 860 GTS I bought in about 1981. The transmission locked in third gear a couple of years later, and I parked it. Fast forward 40 years. I would like restore this bike now and relive some of those fond memories of youth. Ha. The bike has been poorly stored over the years and needs complete restoration. So I’ve got a big job ahead and look forward to the generosity of the wealth of knowledge of this forum.

Welcome aboard Gary. Let us know what you need and I have most parts you will need to attend to on the shelf since its been sitting so long.... carbs, brakes, cables, bearings.... Did you figure out why it locked up? I have a complete transmission available and if just 1 or 2 of the gears are bad most likely have them or for sure can get them for you.

Hello Steve,
Not sure about the transmission. I'm kind of hesitant to dive in that deep yet! I will get there eventually. I'm going to try and make it roll first for convenience.
