I have an early 74' 860Gt and I am looking for the later flat seat that does not stick up in the rear. What have you?

Looking for the rubber gasket that fits between the headlight ring and the bucket on a US Spec 860 lamp assembly. New or used.

Comotoed: I have a buddy on a 'mission' to find an 860GT or 900 GTS. Let me know if your is availible.

Aha! That sounds right. I took the choke piston out and saw that imprint in the rubber. Also the rubber still seems pliable. I will try turning it over and if that doesn't work then I'll just get a new piston. Thanks as I thought people would tell me to check the float and so on - which I did ...

I have a 900SS with 32mm Dellortos and it was running fine and suddenly the rear cylinder goes rich. I expected a bad needle and seat or dirt causing the float to hang, but it's not to be. Insides are clean all jets in place and the float is not taking on fuel. I pulled the choke out and had a look ...

So far it appears that the crank primary gear has cracked and is causing a racket. No metal in the filter and the crank seems tight and smooth so here's to hoping a pair of primary gears will cure it!

Does anybody know if the early style primary gear (I think it is from a 1975 860) will fit on the later (1981) bosch ignition style crank? I have a trashed primary gear (cracked) and need to replace it. It appears that all styles of these gears use six allen bolts and two pins so I hope all that I ...

Wdietz: good suggestion as I did not think of spacing it out and flipping it over. I think I will do that next time I am in there.

Can anybody describe what it sounds like when the crank is getting ready to sign off? I have a noise that sounds like a clutch rattle and does change when I pull in the clutch - but it never goes away... Could this be the dreaded crank pin bearing going south? Once I get back, I will pull the clutch ...

For what it's worth: I took a look inside and the washer had compressed allowing the nut to back off enough so that the rotor was loose. In the past I would re-use the washer and I think that took care of the initial compression as the thing seats down into the rotor.

I got my 82' 900SS running (fixed kick starter) and now it has a rattle from the right side of the engine that sounds like it is coming from the alternator? Are these known to loosen up or do they need more torque than the manual calls for? I will take it down again anyway but thought I would ask if ...

I think mine is the earlier style. In the US our 1982 model looks like a 1981 in the rest of the world. Mine appears to have only ever had one seal, but I was thinking there may have been two and the second one has just gone missing?

I have an 82 900SS and the gas cap leaks when you have anywhere near a half tank in it. I looked at the rubber seal and it still seams to be pliable. Are these easily replaced and should there be a second seal? Just looking for a reason this thing leaks. The cap has a key lock so I would prefer to ...

Finally getting to the heads and I have a few valve shims from years ago. Where do you all buy your shims now? Do you just pop for the whole set or fish your source for the few you need?

I am looking for a 1981 or 1982 dual seat pad. These were only made for a couple of years and so far I am not having any luck finding one. If anybody has a line on one, let me know. [img]
