Hi I have a 73 GT and have kept the regulator on the plate at the left hand side of the bike near the key. I know it should use Amals but it came with Dellorto's.
The battery tray had been cut to accommodate the rear carb. I had the tray repaired and thought I could avoid a repeat of this by using ...

Re: New head bearings
A check with a micrometer revealed that the Stem was slightly out of round, a lathe and some emery paper fixed things. Forks now installed.

New head bearings
I'm just in the process of rebuilding the front end. The bottom bearing went onto the stem with very little fuss after heating the bearing and freezing the stem.
However the stem is too wide at the top to allow the top bearing to fit over it. In my experience this should just slide over the stem ...

Choke splitter box location
I'm finally getting to the reassembly stage but can't figure out where the choke cable splitter box bolts to the frame, if indeed that is the case.
Just for clarity I 'm referring to box that has one cable from the choke lever going in and two cables going out one to each carb. Mine is the square ...

Scarab master cylinder stuck piston
Hi,
Just received my Scarab master cylinder and thought I'd see if the piston was free or not. After a gentle squeeze it moved all the way in. Good news I said to myself, I'll remove the lever, get the air line and that will be job done. However it was not to be, sustained pressure (130psi) did ...

750 GT seat pan
If it is of interest to anyone a contact in the Czech Republic, who is a vintage car restorer, made me a pretty near perfect replica of the seat pan. Mine had serious rust issues and I am very happy with the end product. PM me if you are interested in one and I'll send some pics. He didn't seem to ...

Re: Paint colour /code for a red and black 1973 750 GT
Craig,
I e mailed Ian last night and he was unable to assist. He did however reassure me that the new book if ordered in the UK it would be printed in the UK and not sent from Australia as it suggests on E bay.

Re: Paint colour /code for a red and black 1973 750 GT
Morning Craig,
The offer of a photograph I'd gratefully accept if it doesn't put you out too much especially if it's a none restored example. I'm interested to know how far the black stripe on the tank extends towards the petrol cap on both sides. The other thing is whether or not the colour is ...

Paint colour /code for a red and black 1973 750 GT
Can anyone help me out with the following.
I wish to paint my 750 in the original red and black colour scheme as per the 1973 models with the metal tank. I have seen the references to Lechler paint for the black colour, code Duc A10 and many references to the orange /bronze which was the other ...

750 GT Lancashire UK
Hi Folks,
After acquiring this from a friend a very long time ago I am finally getting on with restoring it, albeit very slowly. I bought a box of bits that was in its day a 1973 750 GT in red and black.
The motor is finished and I have now moved onto the cycle parts, frame and painted parts. I ...
