Sidestand hitting header

Post by OZHoppo »

Gurus,
I am rebuilding an 82 Darmah which has a Staintune exhaust fitted.
The header hits the side stand pivot point and won't retract fully.

Is there a difference in header pipes between SS and Darmah?

yes, but, you said you have a Staintune exhaust fitted..........

Have you already tried loosening everything up on your exhaust and moving the header to get clearance and then tighten everything back up?

Yep, tried that but will go back and start again. I could very well be doing something silly

Problem solved kinda.

I took the exhaust assembly apart to start again and noticed that it has S2 stamped on the pipes. I am guessing that the S2 system is just slightly different from the Darmah.
