My GT engine being rebuilt

Post by Chasbmw »

My GT engine is coming to thr end of a long and expensive rebuild, new crank and pistons, cams re ground to a mega am spec.
Compression ratio ending up to a measured 9.2. It should go well. Idea is to take it to the Colombres rally next year, but as I am recovering from a stroke, it’s in the hands of the Gods and my Physio team . Thank goodness I fitted the Bevel Heaven hydraulic clutch as it’s my left hand side that’s affected by the stroke.

The work is done by Craig Ridgley from CMR Racing who is a singles specialist who has decided to take on twins. Check out his Facebook page for more photos as this forum doesn’t like my photos

The very best of luck to you in getting back in the saddle. I too fitted the hydraulic clutch conversion to my GT before my recent 2,600 mile trip round Europe, it transforms day-to-day riding of the bike.

p.s. I've been looking at the Colombres Rally website - I might give it a go in 2025 too. Whereabouts are you located, UK?

Go to Colmbres, easy enough to reach if you take the ferry to Santander, most rides are around 150 miles.
We stay in hotel Canal. , cheap as chips in town so plenty of eating options room to park on paved area outside
No bikes have been stolen yet. It’s a great rally not many people wearing red cords.

Sounds good - especially the absence of red cords!
