Introduction- getting an 860 GT prepped

Post by Mermilliod »

Hi all,

I am located in Portland, Oregon, USA. I recently acquired a 1975 860 GT that has been mostly done and I have been invited to show it at the 2020 One Show. I now have about 4 weeks to get it prepped and ready so the race is on. Could definitely use a little help with detail pictures of a restored 860 if anyone here has one that is stock. Currently in need of some detail shots of the air box setup if anyone can help there. Thanks in advance!

Here's a thread over at a Guzzi site of a guy's journey restoring one:

Thanks for the links guys. I'll try to get some updates pics to this thread by the end of the weekend. Work is coming along pretty smoothly at this point.

Does anyone have recommendations for tires? What modern sizes are equivalent to stock size (3.5 x 18 front/4.25 x 18 rear) and what modern tire is a close approximation to looking era appropriate?
