450 R/T Gaskets

Post by FullHedge »

I'm restoring a 450 R/T and need to get my hands on a gasket kit.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for a U.S. supplier ?

OK, how about any supplier ?

I Don't want to sound rude but has no one but me replaced
gaskets before ?

I'm a Rookie at this and I'm asking for help.

I don't think the R/T gaskets would differ from the Mark3 or SCR type.
There was a difference though in the way 450s were made, and this would affect the centre gasket. Early 450 had locating dowels on each side (front & back) of cylinder mouth. Later had the dowels in completely different positions. The dowels surround screws, so their holes are bigger at their locations. I think it's because they initially used modified 250/350 crankcase castings, then made different casting patterns for 450.

Gaskets

Post by rnoel1969 »

I have a complete engine overhaul gasket set. It was bought years ago. If you tell me what gaskets you need perhaps I can have them made. I also have two 1971 450 R/T's, so I don't want to get rid of the set. The address on the envelope is Ducati Meccanica S.p.A. Casella Postale 313-40100 Bologna. Now a question to you. Do you know how to remove the flywheel on 450 motor? I can't seem to find a puller any where. My e-mail address is [email protected]. Thanks, Ron

Phill Hitchcock at Road & Race lists gaskets sets for the 450 widecase.
