K & N filter #KN-153 is the best I know of and it comes with a nut on the bottom drilled for saftey wire.

Filters for Alazzurra

Post by Luca Guala »

the Alazzurra will accept the same filters as used by all other two valve Ducatis (and I guess also 4 valvers use the same oil filter). I agree about K&N being the best, but they are also the most expensive.

In Europe, at car parts shops you can find very cheap filters that will fit all Ducatis: they are the oil filters for the Citroen 2CV, Dyane 4 and 6, LN. I think also some Simca - Talbot cars used the same filters.

On another note, the cars mentioned above also have a very nice oil cooler, all aluminium, that can easily be fitted to any Pantah-Alazzurra or other Ducati twin

Once I found a suitable oil filter at an industrial machinery shop: it was for a VM diesel engine and it carried the same code as the original Ducati spare! (but also the same price!)

The filter for the big Guzzi twins will fit too, but it's shorter so it may be difficult to fit-remove (on the other hand, probably a filter for a Ducati will fit a Guzzi

ciao

oil filters

 just to point out the hopefully obvious - pantah and belt drive motor screw on style oil filters ARE NOT THE SAME as bevel drive cartridge style oil filters....
