Ducati Pantah 650 Tacho driving gear part 0660.92.160

Post by Tony Graham »

Hello,

I'm hoping that some one can help confirm a part number for me, since none of the official dealers seem to be able to!

The part in question is the tacho driving gear on the camshaft of the horizontal cylinder (Pantah 650). My workshop manual says it is part number 0660.29.060. The tacho cable connects to the driven gear/spindle 0660.92.155.

0660.92.155 is still available but apparently 066.29.060 isn't.

However from the 600/750 SuperSport (1991-1997) parts diagram I have it looks like they use the same parts, but that 0660.29.060.and 0660.92.155 are now sold as a set under part number 0660.92.160

Can you please let me know if 0660.92.160 contains the exact parts as 0660.29.060.and 0660.92.155?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards

Tony

I still haven't gotten a definitive answer to this question, but have been told that these gear sets come in 2 or 3 different ratios to suit the different instruments used on different Pantahs and SuperSports

Found this out from some one who had just rebuilt an over revved Pantah 650. 6000rpm indicated on the tacho was actually closer to 9000rpm.
