Clipon fasteners for '79 MHR?

Post by sirridealot »

Hi,
One of the clipons moved when I was moving my MHR and I'm suspecting the mounting hardware is incorrect.
The 900 replica manual shows four of the following mounting the clipons to the forks: M6x35 hex bolts, 1xM6 washer and an M6x1.0 nylock.
What is on my MHR now is an M6x35 cap screw (8.8), 2xM6 flat washers, a lock washer and a regular M6 nut.
I suspect cap screw is correct or a good substitute, it looks like two washers are needed on either end and the regular nut/lockwasher seems wrong for this application.
The nylock in the manual is part # 0799.13.095, I can't find info on this - if it's a tall or short one?

Can someone advise what is the correct hardware and torque for tightening?
Anything else to watch out for? This seems like a critical fastener to get right.
thanks, Andrew

I have the part # you noted

but I'd use a locknut and washer on each end......
I have some yellow nylock nuts, not cheap...

or standard white nylocks
