1990 Ducati 750 Sport

Hi
I recently purchased a 1990 750 sport for my girlfrind to ride. The Weber had already been taken off in favor of a Dellorto set up. With that said does anyone know what adverse affects the fuel pump (which is still active) might have on the new system. Could it just as well be disconnected and have gravity take it from there?
