MONTEREY, Calif. (November 3, 2009) – World Superbike Champion Ben Spies is moving to the MotoGP World Championship in 2010 to join the Tech3 Yamaha Team. This means that Spies will be back at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, paired with fellow Texan Colin Edwards.
Tickets to see these gifted American riders at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca are on sale now.

“To have won the Superbike World Championship is fantastic in his rookie season and his achievements before that in AMA Superbike are equally impressive,” said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager for Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “We are thrilled to now be welcoming him back to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as a Tech3 Yamaha MotoGP rider.”

Spies' focused performance in 2009 put him in the history books by claiming his, and Yamaha's first-ever World Superbike title and as the most successful rookie ever in World Superbike with 11 pole positions and 14 out of a possible 28 race wins during the season.

All general admission tickets, paddock passes, grandstand seats, parking and general camping for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix are now on sale by phone at
(800) 327-7322 or on-line at www.mazdaraceway.com The 2010 race marks the sixth consecutive visit for MotoGP teams and riders to the historic Monterey circuit.

A limited amount of Hospitality and Suite options are still available for the event and all include a 3-day admission ticket, paddock pass, preferred parking and a souvenir program, along with a breakfast and lunch buffet and beverages served to guests on Saturday and Sunday.

The Turn 2 Hairpin Suites have a few seats available for $450.00 per person as do the Turn 4 Paddock Suites at $495.00 per person. Both suite options are located in elevated, canopied tents with the seating on the second level.

The Flagroom Hospitality tent is located near Turn 5 with seating located in the Turn 4 grandstands and costs $395.00 per person. The Laguna Club Hospitality tent is located behind the grandstands at Turn 11 with seating in the Turn 11 grandstands and is $350.00 per person. The Flagroom and Laguna Club Hospitality tents will be open on Saturday and Sunday.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was established in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501C(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help put on the races.
